Love: The Perfect Pant

My go to pant right now is the Toothpick fit from J. Crew.  I have 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of corduroy pants that I just love! I was excited to see in the September catalog that there are a few new washes and colors.  I will definitely be adding a few more to my collection! 

I think they are the perfect skinny pant. They look great with sandals for the summer and will pair well with boots for the fall.

Happy Hour: Moscow Mule

I was first introduced to a Moscow Mule at Abattoir last year and loved it. I have noticed it on more and more drink menus since then.  It is so easy to make too!


Recipe:

• 2 shots Vodka
• juice from 1/2 a fresh lime
• Ginger Beer (to taste)

Squeeze the lime into a tall glass filled with ice, and then add the Vodka; finally, add Ginger Beer to taste. Garnish with a fresh lime and/or candied ginger. 


If you are every in Atlanta you must try the Moscow Mule at Holman & Finch. They make their own ginger beer.  It is very yummy and refreshing!

Not so silly...

Silly Bandz is one of the latest trends in accessories that not only kids are wearing. I started to see arms full of these brightly colored bands a few months ago and I was intrigued. Robert Croak from Toledo, Ohio discovered the funky shaped rubber bands at a product show in China. The craze has spread like wildfire without the use of huge advertising campaigns.

Celebrities have even gotten on board with the trend. Sara Jessica Parker has been spotted multiple times wearing one which was a gift from her son James.

Rebecca Romijn and Mary-Kate Olsen have also been spotted rocking the neon bracelets. They take a more minimalist approach and only wear a couple at a time.

I love the trend but do not own any...yet!  There are many different themes but here are a few of my favorites-

Loves: Tory Burch

Tory Burch is known for her popular Reva Ballet Flats, bold colored tunics and logo totes but she is so much more! I love the simple style yet some pieces have an eclectic twist.  Black is a staple in my closet but I have been lusting on bronze and different shades of pink & fushia...especially some of these pieces!

She is currently working on a denim line to come out this fall and I can't wait for it!

UPDATE on the gel mani...

Well, it has been 2 weeks since I got the gel mani and all of the nails are still on with no chips.  It has grown out a little bit but still looks great. I plan on soaking them off this weekend if I don't peel them off first!

Picture Perfect

A project that I have been wanting to take on is creating a picture wall either in our family room or along the stairs. I know our house is in need of some updated family, friends and wedding photos. I love these examples!

While doing some research it looks like IKEA is a great place for frames or Perfect Picture Wall. They offer a complete system of 10 frames and a template so there is no measuring and no mistakes.  That sounds like a pretty good option for me!

Loves: stila cosmetics

I was always a MAC girl but my friend Kristen introduced me to stila earlier this year and I was hooked! The MAC frost finish eye shadows are amazing and stay on all day but I have been as impressed with stila. The pressed bronzer and loose powder are also on my list of stila LOVES!

It is a Kate Spade kind of day...

I just got an email from Kate Spade about their "book clutches" so I thought I would put up a quick post. They have 3 different books in this series but will be coming out with more...The Great Gatsby, Great Expectations and The Importance of Being Earnest.  They are very clever and fun but not for $325. I will just keep my eyes on them!

I Upgraded!

I finally made the upgrade to the iPhone 4G last week.  I didn't think I could give up my Crackberry but now I can't imagine not having an iPhone. I have been downloading all of my favorite apps and would love some recommendations!

The gel mani...will it work?

A popular trend right now is the gel nail polish colors. O.P.I.'s Axxium gel polish is what I just had put on last Wednesday. This was my second time getting a gel mani. The biggest PRO to the gel mani is that is completely dry after it sets under the UV light. I always manage to smudge a nail after I leave the salon so this is perfect for me!
